At today’s negotiations meeting with the District, we presented our counterproposal to the District’s counter to Appendix H (Coaching Stipends) and presented our initial proposal for Appendix L (ECELS). We engaged in discussion about a few necessary MOUs and heard the District’s update on their interests in their upcoming counterproposal for Article 17 (Evaluations). We will be bringing general discussion points from that conversation to Faculty Senate on 2/6 and TERB on 2/13 in preparation to receive the District’s official counterproposal. We also discussed the need for a new Article on resignations, which we will draft and bring to the District at our next meeting.
At our next meeting on 2/8/23, we expect to receive the District’s counterproposals for Appendix H, Appendix L, Article 8 (Course Maximums), and Article 17, as well as their initial proposal for Article 15 (Compensation) and/or Article 20 (Working Conditions). We plan to present our proposal for a new Article 27 (Resignations) and discuss the District’s interest in mandating FT faculty be on campus a few days per week.
We remain pleased with the tone, pace, and collaborative nature of our current negotiations with the District team.
Class Caps Update
We will reopen the class caps change request form on 2/6 and send out weekly emails to FT faculty until the deadline of 2/27/23. This will be the annual opportunity to submit requests for changes, new class caps, etc. for negotiation this year. We will be prioritizing MSE courses to be negotiated first. Please watch your email for more information coming soon!
