PFF's Fact of the Fortnight: Here's to You at "The End"

Dear Colleagues,

It’s nearing May 28, 2021, and we all know “the end” is near: the end of endless emails and Zoom meetings for a few months; the end of a class, semester, academic year; and for those who are retiring, the end of a career. Congratulations!

It is not, however, the end of the pandemic or of all distance education. There is still more work to do, individually and collectively. Nor is it the end for PFF’s work. The negotiations team will continue regular meetings with the District on both the contract and class caps, grievance officers will continue addressing any violations, we will be helping part-time faculty navigate un- and underemployment with the EDD, the entire eBoard will meet to bring the newest members up to speed and plan for the 2021-22 year, and we will host food distributions through July - just to name a few ways we continue to protect our faculty and community.

For our members, we will provide the textbook for American Indian Studies 101 employee-only class starting in the fall, so keep your eyes open for that announcement! And to circle back to the aforementioned retirees: we host a Retirement Celebration on May 27 for all recent retirees and all PFF members, so please RSVP to the email you’ve received - we’d love to get together with you.

So please reach out to us over the summer, because we are very much engaged and want to hear from you. Until then - or the start of the new semester - stay safe and well.
