Dear Colleagues, Another semester is ending, but PFF - your campus faculty Union - will be working hard for you all summer. Here are some things to be aware of:
PFF’s campus office will be closed, but we can be reached at Palomarfacfed@gmail.com and our website is kept updated, even in the summer.
For those teaching in summer, remember that Palomar will observe Juneteenth as a holiday on June 20th.
There is a big statewide Union push to ensure that $200 million for Part-time Faculty Healthcare stays in the Governor’s budget. Our Action Alert can help make that happen. Please take a couple of minutes and fill it out.
Part-time faculty, remember to file for unemployment if you are not working this summer. Every PT faculty member is eligible for this. Our website has a guide to assist you.
Part-time faculty, if you did not receive any classes in the fall, and have been a Union member this past semester, you can apply to continue your membership by contacting PFF at Palomarfacfed@gmail.com and making that request.
Our Emergency Funds and Conference Funding remain available in the summer. You can find them at our website.
Please remember to check your Palomar email all summer. There are often last-minute class offerings or important negotiations news.
Yesterday’s PFF meeting included a changing of the guard, and with our heartfelt gratitude for her steadfast service, PFF said goodbye as Teresa Laughlin stepped down after five years as PFF Co-President. We are equally grateful Lawrence Hamilton Lawson has stepped up as the new Full-Time Co-President!
Please let us know if we can assist you over the summer months, and in the meantime, we wish you a wonderful end to the semester. In Solidarity, Barbara Baer and Lawrence Hamilton Lawson Co-Presidents Debbie Forward Executive Director
